AWANA is an acronym that stands for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" (2 Timothy 2:15). Awana is a global, nonprofit ministry that contains integrated evangelism and long-term discipleship programs for ages 2 to 18 that actively involve parents and church leaders. Each week, more than 2 million children and youth, 330,000 volunteers and 260 field staff take part in Awana in 30,000 churches around the world. Offered through local churches, Awana reaches kids where they’re at and walks alongside them in their faith journey.
Woodland's Awana program is filled with fun games and Bible learning, and runs during the school year (August-May). Dooba and Abigail Eibensteiner are co-directors. Visit our Facebook page or our website for more information.
Children are a gift from God. At Living Hope, we believe children are our future, and that is why we are willing to invest in their lives. Our hope is that they will grow to be men and women that God has in mind.
We offer Sunday School, Children's Church (ages 3-5) during our Sunday morning service, Awana during the school year on Wednesday nights, Kids Camp during the summer, special events through the holidays, and field trips to great places.
This ministry is run by a team of caring and committed leaders and parents who understand the value of raising kids God's way. We also care about the safety and well-being of every child. All volunteers and staff must pass a Live Scan nationwide background check, and must be trained in our safety policies and procedures, before they can serve in children's ministry. Contact our Children's Ministry Coordinator, Judith Shearman, or call the church office.
Living Hope's youth group is an active and diverse ministry that is dedicated to guiding young people in junior and senior high school through those challenging years. We offer Bible Studies and Sunday morning worship, as well as one-to-one discipleship. Youth group meets Thursday from 6:00-7:30 PM for fun, worship, and study of God's Word. Throughout the year there are numerous retreats, road trips, and local special events to both socialize and grow in Christ in a safe environment.
Under the leadership of Gerald and Judith Shearman, the youth ministry encourages youth to go out into the world to minister. This is done through service projects in our community and mission trips to other communities. If you desire more information about our youth ministry please contact Gerald Shearman (huzzah54@gmail.com) or call our church office.
